AquaristSpecies.net now supports local club Breeder Award Programs (BAP) with improved recognition for breeding CARES species.
Site-hosted BAP Programs feature traditional 1st time species breeder points while also supporting CARES Species Multipliers and CARES Species Maintenance points which multiply each year encouraging long-term maintenance of endangered or rare species.
To enable this feature:
Once you have joined your club on AquaristSpecies.net you can participate in your club's BAP program:
The BAP feature will evolve as clubs are added based on feedback from Aquarists and Admins. In its current form your club may choose to support CARES Species point multipliers for first time breeding submissions and enable Species Maintenance points for long term maintenance of CARES species or other rare or hard to find species.
Once you join your club, you will see a Club page similar to the 'SPARK' club below.
Club members can be viewed to see who is participating in your BAP program.
Choose BAP Points Configuration to see how your club has assigned points at the genus level.
Species matching a genus are assigned genus point values set by your Club BAP Admin. You can filter categories. For example you can filter on Rainbowfish to see only the genus list for that category.
Species Exceptions can also be set by your Club BAP Admin. To see them click on the Species Exceptions column.
To encourage keeping and breeding CARES species, your Club BAP Admin can set a CARES Multiplier to increase the value of breeding CARES species. For example a multiplier of 2 will double points for all CARES species.
BAP Submissions may be viewed by all club members. New entries will be marked Open and must be approved by your Club BAP Admin before appearing in the leaderboard.
You add BAP Submissions from your Aquarist Species pages. Click the button below for more details.
