Common Name: Blue badis
A small predatory fish native to river basins of India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. It is closely related to Anabantids but lacks a labyrinth organ and therefore cannot breathe oxygen for air at the surface. It prefers slow moving streams and ponds and is an ambush predator with an ability to change colors to match its surroundings, feeding on worms, insects, and crustaceans.
