Common Name: Humphead Tiger Shell-dweller

A rheophilic riverine lamprologine endemic to the Lower Congo River rapids. Named for the bold dark tiger-like barring along its flanks, distinguishing it from the closely related L. werneri, of which it was long considered a color variant before being elevated to species status.
