Description

A large South American cichlid which can show a wide range of aggressive to non-aggressive aquarium behavior. The 'Gold Saum' is a spectacularly colored adult fish with a mostly bright green body surrounded by gold or white trim. Males are larger and more colorful. Native to the coastal rivers of Ecuador and Peru including the Esmeraldas and Tumbes Rivers. These rivers flow into the Pacific.
