Common Name: Double Lipspot Mouthbrooder
Brownish species of gourami that resides in the blackwater swamps, streams, and sometimes ditches of Bintan Island and Singkep Island, Indonesia. Betta spilotogena looks very similar to the other members of the Betta waseri group, and can be differentiated by the two rounded black marks under its chin and its spotted opercule with a black lower margin.
