Species Profile:  Betta midas

Description

Betta midas is native to the island of Borneo and is found in the Kapuas Basin in Indonesia. It is a paternal mouthbrooder which prefers blackwater environments and should be kept in soft acidic water with temperatures in the mid 70s F. Pairs can be housed in a 20 gallon tank, while groups should be housed in a 55 gallon tank or larger. Pairs should be given cover such as caves and plants.
