Unique species collected in Uruguay in an oxbow near Laguna Molle. Coloring is much more red than typical G brasiliensis. Another cold-water treasure from Uruaguay.

Acquired a small group of young fish from Matt Quinn who describes them as much redder than typical brasilliensis. Another cool water tolerant cichlid from Uruaguay. Spent summer of 2024 in a 150g outdoor tub. Currently in a 60g unheated tank.
