Distribution: Amazon River Basin
Genetic Line: Aquarium Strain
Line Traits: Thread fin Acara
Year Acquired: 2022
Acquired a group of 8 young ~2" fish from Tangled Up In Cichlids. Beautiful peaceful species. Kept them with wild caught Heros liberifer (mouthbrooding severum) of a similar size. The heckelii are much more peaceful and social. Out front unafraid of people and always 1st to eat. Due to space limitations I brought some to a local auction and how have 3 left. As adults they are stunning. Makes me wish I kept more.
