Description: Haplochromine cichlid endemic to Lake Victoria. It is a pharyngeal crusher and feeds on snails and bivalves. The period of sexual activity is about 3 years, the fish may live for 6-9 years in aquarium. The species has been collected in the following Lake Victoria locations: Uganda: Bunjako, Jinja, Sesse isld, Pilkinton Bay,Ekumu Bay, Buka Bay, Entebbe Harbour,Macdonald Bay. Kenya: Kisumu, South of Port Southby, Kavirondo Gulf. Tanzania: Majita, Mwanza bay, Mwanza Gulf.
