Common Name:   Swamp Blue-eye

Description:   Pseudomugil paludicola is a small blue-eye rainbowfish reaching 4–5 cm in length. It has a translucent body with a silvery head and abdomen. Males are more colorful, displaying elongated dorsal fins and yellow highlights, while females are smaller and less vibrant. The species is distinguished by its rear-positioned dorsal fins, extremely reduced first dorsal fin, and unique anal-fin structure. Several isolated populations show regional color variations, including blue-sheened forms from West Papua and yellow forms from Papua New Guinea.
