My Betta patoti breeding pair, Wyclef (male) and Lauryn (female), successfully spawned multiple times in a 10-gallon Walstad darkwater aquarium.

Water temperature was maintained at approximately 24°C. The male incubated the fertilized eggs through paternal mouthbrooding before releasing fully developed fry.

The pair produced multiple successful broods, including approximately 20 fry documented on July 7, 2026. They have since been moved to a 20-gallon long darkwater aquarium and are regularly fed baby brine shrimp, grindal worms, and pellets.

Have Reared Fry?   Yes

Following release, fry were initially left with their parents for approximately three weeks before being transferred to a separate nursery aquarium.

Initial foods included infusoria, followed by microworms and grindal worms as the fry developed. The established aquarium provided naturally occurring microorganisms and stable conditions for early development.

Approximately 20 fry were documented from the July 7, 2026 brood. Multiple successful broods have been raised from this breeding pair.
