Aquarist Notes

Genetic Line:   Aquarium Strain

Line Traits:   Red Fin

Year Acquired:   2019

Acquired from The Wet Spot in Sept 2019. Absolutely a great fish. Wound up with 1 male and 3 females all very spunky and holding their own nicely out in the sandy front area with numerous Tangs in a 120 community. Spawn continuously in every tank setup I've tried them in. Not aggressive fish but hold their own against most commonly kept Tangs. Fabulous Tanganyikan cichlid!

Species Spawned:   Yes

First time they spawned my single male spawned with all 3 females spread around the 120 community. Since then they spawn reliably, always picking a small cichlid cave (never shells unless no small caves are available).

Have Reared Fry?   Yes

Easy to rear fry if you can remove them in the cichlid cave prior to becoming free swimming. Just pick it up and move it to a fry tank. A bit harder but do-able if they are free swimming. Grow fast on BBS.
