Description
Shell dwelling species endemic to Lake Tanganyika. This is one of the more docile shell dwellers which may be bullied by other more aggressive Tanganyikan cichlids. Easy to breed in pairs. Not a harem spawner. Available in different color forms.

Acquired a group of 5 at the Fall NECA auction. Fish were a donation from SI Cichlids. Two pairs established and are currently kept in a Tanganyikan community including young A. calvus and J. transcriptus.
