Aquarist Notes

Collection Point:   Mpimbwe

Genetic Line:   Wild Caught

Year Acquired:   2024

Acquired 8 wild caught adults from Bluechip Aquatics in March 2024. Put them in a large footprint 4'x8' 60g lowboy aquarium with plenty of rockwork. Did not see the extreme conspecific aggression others have reported. Several months in they are all coexisting well and at least one pair has formed and is breeding. These are shy but curious fish.

Species Spawned:   Yes

First spawn was quite secretive and I did not know there was a pair spawning until I saw 2 good-sized fry exploring the tank. Now ~1" they are occassionally chased by adults so I would guess their siblings were eaten by the adults. I have since seen a pair exhibit spawning behavior.
