Description:   Larger Melanotaenia 4-6inches, Males have orange and red coloration with a iridescent blue body with a black stripe down the middle horizontally. Females rock the same iridescent blue body with a slight green tinge, shorter fins but both will have a bright orangish yellow stripe on the top of their head when fired up.

Seperated a group into a 20 gallon Tall tank with a spawning mop and removed it every day pulling eggs and putting it back for 5 days.

Have Reared Fry?   Yes

after incubating eggs for 7 days they hatched I put them into a lowell fish tray and with a larger quanities of fry they typically will do better. I kept them in the fry tray feeding powdered foods and vinegar eels for the 1st 2 weeks until they were on live BBS. after 2 months I moved them out of the Fry tray into a 15 gallon long and still feeding bbs daily (typically 5-6 times a day).
