Slower grower with males eventually reaching 8 inches. My group is a little over a year and just hitting sexual maturity with my female currently holding (7/28/25). Males are about 4.5-5 inches and female about the same. Current group is 3 males and one female. I just received 8 more fry (7/25) in search of more females. As long as my females first batch survives, I will mix with new fry for future. generations diversity. This is the apex predator of Lake Edward and tank mates should be considered carefully. I keep mine in a species only tank. Currently housed in 75 gallon, but moving to 6’ 125 gallon in next couple weeks…..after female spits. Females have egg spots too, but far less emphasized than the males.
Species Spawned: Yes
Still holding currently….will update.
