Aquarist Notes

Photo of aquarist's species:

Genetic Line:   F2 Second Generation

Year Acquired:   2024

Original pair arrived as contaminants with Enneacampus ansorgii "Cameroon."

Species Spawned:   Yes

Gestation approx. 10 days. Male releases several hundred planktonic larvae overnight. Ensure males have access to marine foods (e.g., "tigger" pods") and frequent feedings as this can help increase the number of offspring large enough to take freshly hatched artemia.

Have Reared Fry?   Yes

Require at least slightly brackish water to survive. Some may be large enough to take small-strain artemia nauplii at birth. Extremely difficult to rear.
