Aquarist Notes

Photo of aquarist's species:

Genetic Line:   F2 Second Generation

Year Acquired:   2023

I got mine from the original importer Ryan Lee of @Hoonaquatics. He got these in 2022 from Gustav Eek who wild caught his on an expedition in 2019 to French guayana.

Species Spawned:   Yes

Mine spawned under a cover rocked in a 15 gallon aquarium that I had dropped the PH to 5.1 and a TDS of 0. Parents take turns guarding eggs until spawn hatches.

Have Reared Fry?   Yes

I left my fry with the parents for 3 months until the fry reached about 1inch. The parents are diligent parents and don’t predate on their fry at all. They will even raise a second batch with the original batch of fry but do not protect fry as well from their older siblings.
