Category:   Rainbowfish

Global Region:   Southeast Asia

Distribution:   None

CARES Status:   Critically Endangered

Aquarist Notes

Genetic Line:   Aquarium Strain

Year Acquired:   2025

My original spawns were 1M/2F. I've added in 6 more with at least 2M and maybe 4F. Hoping the increase in school size helps them feel more comfortable. Noticing them all schooling together a lot more than the previous 3 would kind of stay solo most of their time. Running them in a 20G tank currently with substrate, mopani driftwood, and a few plants. Males have really pretty red/blue on their dorsal fins, and noticeable when they're ready for breeding.

Species Spawned:   Yes

I run the tank at 77-78F controlled with an Inkbird to keep temperatures stable. I've only noticed 1-2 fry at a time when I check the tank. I haven't been able to find where they're laying the eggs yet. I've removed a few more plants, and am adding in a sinking spawning mop to see if I can get more.
