Description: Apisto native to the Amazon River basin in Peru, specifically found in blackwater streams (tributaries of the Río Tahuayo and Río Ucayali).

Currently have one mating pair. Generally peaceful, but they are territorial, especially during breeding. They do best in a single pair or a small harem (one male and two to three females) in a species-specific tank. They have spawned. I have not found any fry as of yet.
